My Self-Summary
A detective operating out of Nenneko Ginza. We take on cases that no one else will, destroying both darkness and desire. You may find our coffee shop, but do you know how to call out to my partner and I? β (If you're good, I'll give you a hint!)
As long as I can help people, things are fine as they are, aren't they?
Exposing every truth.
Is this just a general favorites list? I see, I see. In that case:
I like sunbathing and citrus cocktails! I prefer flowers over chocolate. My favorite composer is Chopin. I dislike fish eggs. One of my favored hobbies is taking walks and I enjoy the sound of rain.
Aha. You never know until you really see someone for the first time.

[ A sweep of the interior of one of the winding halls winked into existence by the capricious will of the resort, a thing that nearly breathes with its own intent. ]
Still, our pursuers aren't very intelligent. They get lost in here more easily than I do. And~ they can't fly well.
[ He winks. ]
no subject
though whatever plan might be hatching in the young man's mind still remains a mystery, and neuvillette sweeps his lavender eyes up and down kizuna's form. )
Are you saying you can?
( please elaborate. )
no subject
Me? No, I'm afraid not. [ He wiggles his free arm. ] But the smaller of our opponents don't do as well in enclosed spaces, I've noticed. Which is probably why our benefactors have given us a few escape routes in this game...
[ Winding and silly as they are. ]
no subject
not a man capable of flight then, which means.... his eyes shift, away from kizuna and towards the evenly spaced horizontal bars, the plastic slides that dip down past the edges of the floor, the brightly colored signs that dot the walls and nearby structures.
his frown remains in place, light like the furrow above his eyes. )
Then you mean to suggest that we clamber through there in order to evade our pursuers?
( not his idea of a good time but neither is this, so! )
Very well. Please, lead the way.
no subject
Don't worry. This place loves to throw twists and turns at us, but I won't lead you astray.
[ He ducks a low archway that leads into the play place proper, a sprawling complex of garish Valentine's hues and various tests of physical prowess. First up! A foam incline, just barely in the image of a ladder that ascends up to a platform. ]
Your knees might get a little dirty, though. Any reservations about that?
no subject
Is not the purpose of this resort to push us to 'dirty' ourselves, in one way or another?
( it's a rhetorical question; he's already rolling up his sleeves, stepping towards the makeshift ladder. don't worry, he's a big boy. he can handle a bit of (literal) filth, for all that he might pout prettily over it. )
You need not worry. I will be just fine.
( and with that out of the way, he begins to climb, wobbly and uneven. though he has occasionally watched the childen play in the strets of fontaine, his forays into mindless recreation and physical are limited, and the slight give to the foam interrupts his balance just enough that progress up the incline is far slower than it should be.
hopefully it's at least decent entertainment for kizuna to watch his companion tip left and then right as they clamber their way upwards. )
no subject
(And yes, it's also pretty funny. He feels like he's truly getting to see something special here.) ]
We~ll. I'll be right behind you. So don't fear falling, alright?
[ True to his word, he also sets about clambering up the foam incline, grappling with the space in between its shallow and equally foamy rungs. ]
And rather than thinking of it as dirtying ourselves, [ a huff — he isn't actually the most athletic... ] think of it as making a connection.
no subject
instead he just swings and pivots, mouth etching deeper into a frown on his face the more he's forced to focus on the sheer physicality of the act—before molding into a small O as one foot slips and the foam ladder wobbles. )
Connection? ( a pause as he huffs and reorients. he's never thought about it that way. ) You mean...physically?
( the other meaning lies just out of reach of his fingers. )
no subject
Well, yes. [ He exhales, a sound that hitches a little like a laugh as the ladder wobbles them about. Gazing upwards, he deftly pumps the heel of his palm to the other man's actual heel, giving him a gentle boost. ] But that's the easy part... for me, anyway.
[ Everyone has different thresholds, though this place has a way of blurring those boundaries. Then again, so does Kizuna. ]
Getting into someone's heart or mind is a different matter.
no subject
though unfortunately that is where he will be remaining for the next two minutes or so to puzzle over kizuna's words, sidestepping as necessary only when the man himself follows behind. )
Getting into? ( what an interesting choice of words, almost as if he's simply opening a door and waltzing his way in. ) As in, understanding their own thoughts and emotions?
no subject
[ Palms flat on the platform, he hoists himself up and angles around into a seat to likewise take a quick breather. Most would consider it just a play on words, a subtle tactic Kizuna employs to see how it shakes out with his newer companions. "Into" is a strong concept, if one were to really focus on the facets of its possibility. This or that rarely has any meaning until it does. Glancing upwards at him, Kizuna smiles. ]
Honestly speaking, the resort makes it easy to forge a physical connection with someone. Understanding what that person might like or dislike about it, what might encourage them to play this game, or what frightens them about it...
[ Dusting his knees, he makes to climb to a stand. ]
Those are the most important pieces to me.
no subject
regardless he blinks wide at the statement, surprise morphing to subtler curiosity. )
That is a good point..... What have you learned thus far, if you don't mind me asking?
( they still have some ways to traverse through this maze of bars and slides and ropes, but he can't help but ask anyway. )
no subject
I don't mind. But everyone's reasons are so different... I could probably spend hours describing them all to you. [ Now upright, he takes a glance at the other options to take off from the platform. Rope swings, monkey bars, a huge net... ] It's a risky path to take when nothing but where we stand right now is guaranteed.
[ The resort and its occupants are ever changing, after all. ]
But I don't find myself shying from it. What do you think of that?
no subject
I think that is very admirable of you, to wish to understand the feelings and motivations of others rather than focus solely on yourself. ( if only the same could come as easy to him. ) From my observations, most others would not venture outside of their own realm of understanding without significant personal gain.
( that's simply the way of the majority of humankind, at least insofar as he's witnessed these last few hundred years. but perhaps they should focus on their escape first. he gestures towards the path in front of them. )
Shall we?
( he says that butβ¦.he has no idea which route is best to take. )
no subject
Very astute. I'd be interested in hearing more about those observations of yours sometime, too. [ Kizuna has no choice but to understand, so he wonders where this man falls, idly and without current consequence. An interest of his? Or perhaps a responsibility. ] Maybe once we make our grand escape.
[ Tutting softly, he considers the options. ]
I think I'd die on something like that. [ He points an accusing finger at the monkey bars. Physical activity is not his strongest suit. ] How about the swings? That seems simple enough!
[ famous last words ]
no subject
Please, select whichever route is most suited towards your particular strengths. I will find my way over one way or another.
( with a deferential nod towards kizuna. raw physical strength isn't his specialty either, but being a reincarnated dragon has its perks. )
Though you may need to go first in demonstration.
( for all that they have similar structures in fontaine, he's never spent much time observing them. too busy with work. besides, no one wants to witness a grown man staring at kids for hours on end, even if said man is one of the highest powers in the land. that's just creepy. )
no subject
[ Easier said than done, but he doesn't know that. Reaching out, Kizuna grabs one of the ropes, giving it a little shake to check its stability. ]
Seems safe. Now, watch closely. Here we gooo! [ Kizuna grips the rope in both hands and takes a swinging jump by hoisting himself up onto it. As it turns out, momentum is hard to control for someone whose bread and butter definitely isn't physical activity. His swing is enough to get him to the next rope, but when he reaches out to grasp it, his weight doesn't evenly disperse, leaving him spread unattractively between two ropes. ] — ah, that wasn't... wah!
[ His grip shakes loose and with a panicked scramble, he's sent plummeting to the ball pit below in a big whoomph of the foam balls.
(Nailed it.) ]
no subject
there's a spray of colorful balls into the air, dully thudding against each other, and neuvillette reaches out one hand, leaning forward to shout—well, he doesn't actually know the young man's name yet so nothing comes out, just a sad exhale of air. this really isn't going so well, now is it?
instead of continuing on himself, his first priority is to check on the well-being of his companion. following the first uproar of foam balls comes a second as he jumps down, landing a little more graceful as a result of the more purposeful leap. from there, it's a matter of wading through the balls, hands spread as he tries to clear his path. )
Are you quite alright?
no subject
[ His woe is palpable as he lays there, finally making a cursory effort to dig his way upwards once he senses the other man approach. ]
We may have lost our pursuers like this, but now my secret's out.
[ He sucks at physical activity. ]
no subject
There is no reason to feel any embarrassment. You made a most valiant attempt.
( likely he would have done much worse if he too were forced to lean solely on his own physical capabilities. )
But perhaps I can be of assistance in exiting this place?
( whenever they eventually make their way out. it would be a shame to leave so soon though. )
no subject
[ Leave it to him to flirt from his grave but with more pressing matters to attend to, he does make a cursory effort to swim his way upwards, palms and fingers warding all the balls aside to make a path to the surface. ]
What do you have in mind? It seems like we've barely explored... plus, there are those little angels to consider.
no subject
Ah, not out of our current predicament, but out of this strange enclosure.
( though kizuna seems quite content to lounge there amongst the sea of balls. there's a joke to be made here. )
Unless you would like to remain here awhile longer?
( the pit does seem to be keeping the cherub chasers away. )
