[ In the royals' lounge, it's no less festive. It's just that the festivities are catering to a more expensive palate — it's fineries as far as the eyes can see. Quieter bar tops, gleaming under pleasantly low light, couples pulling off heels and ties and jewelry to hit the spa, each interaction leaning on too personal. ]

Living up to its name well, isn't it? An oasis. [ Indicating that he's going to approach the bar, Kizuna smiles. ] Don't worry, there's no need for a script to follow. Just be with me.

[ At the bar, he waits while the bartender is with other guests, turning an auric gaze on Baizhu. ]

What's your poison, hm?

[ It’s all a little too much for him, honestly. Despite his own wealth back at home, he tended to live with more austerity than not, satisfied with simpler pleasures.

Though of course this world is opening him up to new horizons. At Kizuna’s question he thinks back to Aventurine’s knowing gaze and Sylvain’s eyes merry with laughter as they asked him something quite similar before.

Kizuna would be first to call it “poison,” however. Funny thing to say to a doctor, even one who is perfectly capable of using poisons to heal, under the right circumstances. ]

I suppose it’s about time I took a bit of a risk…

[ He recalls the way Aventurine looked at him when he requested tea inside a casino. And the way Sylvain just outright called him a lightweight…

Obviously he needed to up his game here, so he proudly declares: ]

I believe I’ll have what they call a “soda.”

[ Surprise draws over Kizuna's face, the soft flash of it bright in his eyes as they glance to the other man. Kizuna can, of course, tell that he's sincere. But the physicality of it gets ahead of him just enough for it to show, there and gone again as a chuckle melts in his chest. Not at all the risk he expected, but it is endearing. ]

Soda it is. We'll take the bottle to go — ah, but first! [ The gravitas with which he prepares his next question is equally as sincere: ] Caramel or citrus?

[ …No Fonta, huh? Guess he’ll have to ask Wriothesley about that one of these days.

While he’s completely oblivious to the fact that he’d just said something stupid, he gives Kizuna’s question some serious thought. He rarely touches unhealthy drinks like these, so he might as well try for something that might appeal to him. ]

I suppose…citrus?

[ As you’re the clear soda expert here, Kizuna, he’s just gonna look to you like a student wondering if he’d guessed the correct answer! ]

[ How is he supposed to rebuke a look like that? (Spoilers: he won't.) ]

Oh, perfect. That's a refreshing choice after being all cooped up and stuffy.

[ So, it's with a very assured smile that he signals the bartender and orders a bottle of the House's finest lemon-lime soda. Probably what they use as a mixer for the alcohol, but hey — he's in the company of royalty. Who's going to question if they want a bottle of expensive and yet plain soda to go? As the bartender forks over a handsome glass bottle that looks like it might house champagne or some other fancy bubbly thing, Kizuna snatches it off the counter alongside two fluted crystal glasses. ]

Now, where to? As expected, it seems like we're spoiled for choices on where we can rest our feathers.

[ He smiles at the little joke, still a little overwhelmed by Kizuna’s exuberant energy (if not the lingering taste of his lips), but utterly charmed by it regardless. ]

I suppose we’ll have to find someplace quiet to enjoy that, won’t we?

[ Thank you for taking the initiative to snatch two glasses, sir. He fully intended to share, even as he fails to realize that this usually entails more grown-up drinks. ]

[ He won't be the next in line to shatter the illusion, finding contentment in playing along. Sure, he could've teased him, could've been taken aback at the idea of snubbing what top shelf booze was available to them in such a wealthy place... but he finds this more charming, opting to also not take leave of his sobriety before Baizhu does. ]

For our little game, I suppose the saunas and baths might get difficult to navigate. So perhaps...

[ A soft click of his tongue as he bravely leads the way towards a different corridor, like the halls of the rest of the resort, but quieter, more lush. He taps the first vacant door he sees, opening it up on a decadent suite. It lacks personality in all its fanciness, but it'll do. ]

We take the simple route?

[ The bed looks comfortable. That’s all he can ask for at this point, since all that opulence is truly just a bit too much for him even on a normal day…

Ah, but Kizuna asked him a question, didn’t he? ]

Yes, please.

[ Come to think of it, he finds that he wouldn’t have objected to anything Kizuna would have suggested at this point, no matter how wild. Such is his charm… ]
